Los Angeles--Mad Men may have snagged one of the top series nods at last night's 61st Primetime Emmy Awards, but the show's over-the-top, much-buzzed-about jewelry wardrobing seemed to have little influence on the styling choices of modern-day television actresses.

While characters on the 1960s drama flit about in matched earrings and necklace sets, a vast majority of the nominated or presenting attendees at last night's awards show followed a more subtle style dictum: wear diamond drop earrings and pair them with bracelets and/or a cocktail ring.

Witness even the accessories worn by Mad Men's leading actresses: Christina Hendricks in Fred Leighton fern pendant earrings with rose-cut diamonds and a cushion-cut black-diamond ring, and Elizabeth Moss in Chopard cushion-cut diamond earrings paired with two fancy-cut diamond bracelets and a cushion-cut diamond bracelet. Rounding out the trifecta, January Jones matched a diamond leaf bracelet with diamond drop earrings, both in platinum from Neil Lane.

As for additional top winners from the evening, Damages star Glenn Close, outstanding lead actress in a drama series, wore Fred Leighton rose-cut diamond and platinum pendant earrings, while her comedic counterpart Toni Collette, of United States of Tara, wore short, earlobe-hugging drops paired with a Fred Leighton platinum, diamond and jade bracelet.

Kristin Chenoweth, outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series, kept the focus on her bedazzled dress, smartly accessorizing with only a pair of diamond stud earrings in platinum from Tiffany and Co. Big Love's Jeanne Tripplehorn also went with a shimmering pailette-studded dress and minimal jewelry. Like Chenoweth, she kept her hair pulled back, showing off her "Orielle" natural, rough, cognac-colored diamond stud earrings from Diamond in the Rough.

Also making a red-carpet splash was De Beers' new "Everlon" diamond jewelry, the diamond giant's "big idea" for the fourth quarter. Breaking Bad actress Anna Gunn debuted Everlon Diamond Knot Collection earrings, a four-row diamond bracelet and a marquise-cut diamond ring, all designed by Martin Katz.

Among the TV personalities breaking from the short drop earrings, bracelet and ring combo was a very pregnant Heidi Klum, who paired a handful of rings with black tassel-like drops. Presenter Hayden Panettiere, nominee Chandra Wilson and Big Love actress Ginnifer Goodwin were among the handful of attendees donning necklaces. Panettiere chose a 19th-century snake necklace featuring old mine-cut diamonds from Fred Leighton; Wilson wore a 37-carat fancy-diamond number in platinum from Chopard; and Goodwin selected Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry's 18-karat rose-gold and emerald-shaped rock-crystal necklace, finished off with a ring.

Among some of the prominent gemstones seen on the red carpet were pearls, worn by Grey Gardens actress Drew Barrymore, nominee Elizabeth Perkins and E! presenter Giuliana Rancic. Barrymore selected South Sea pearl stud earrings and an 18-karat white-gold "Innocence" ring featuring a 12.5-millimeter South Sea pearl surrounded by 26 round diamonds, both from Anna Hu. Perkins, meanwhile, wore an Yvel pearl ring and freshwater-pearl brooch with diamonds topped off with Siera diamond earrings, and Rancic chose Yvel, too, donning a pearl bracelet from the brand, as well as an aquamarine ring from Paolo Costagli.

How I cope with my Shopping Habit

Since I have such a horrible shopping habit and times are getting a little tight on my wallet, I have become such a bargain shopper in my older years. Back in the Clinton years (LOL) when my money was flowing in, I would work and head to the mall for whatever I found interesting. Clothes, shoes, and bras whatever if I liked it I bought it sale or no sale. Those were the easy days.

Now that I am a single mom I am becoming quite the shopper. I am a sale hunter in all areas of my life. I am looking to save any amount. Coupons are my friend. I go threw the food store flyers and right down all the great deals and head there to get them. And the best is when there is a coupon to for it too. The other day I went to the mall saw a pair of jeans and realized I did not have my discount card and came back the next day. Winter is almost over but I do not care.... Boots 75% off 3 designer brands for under $ 100 Hello my deal of the year so far.

I am a big Wal-Mart shopper now a days. I have to admit I was never a fan but the deals and there prices are great for budget. I buy all my necessities there and even some of my food items (no super Wal-Mart by me). Kohl’s is by far the best deals in my town for clothes. I can leave with bags full for under $ 200. I bought about outfits for my niece for her bday for under $ 50.

I make it a game to see how much I can save when I shop. Like one time at the food store I saved $ 50. Jcpenny's once saved $ 189 and the bill was I think a little over $ 100. Not that I am a shopping fool, but I do like to occasionally step in the stores and spend a few bucks. I am silly like this. I love to brag about my savings on great deals rather than bragging about I spent a lot of money. Like my Impala I got an awesome deal on it, and it has pretty much as much if not more features of a C class Mercedes.

So for me to stay happy with my addiction without going bankrupt I have chosen to shop smart not stupid. It is all about the sales!!!

I am involved in a new website http://www.letstalkladies.com/. It is a Women's Only Social Network. It has Groups, Blogs, Forums and much more. I have teamed up with them to get everyone involved. The lady with the most posts between Feb 9th - 13th will win a choice of one of the necklaces that are shown here. They have almost 100 members but it seems that everyone is signing up and not getting involved. This contest is to get everyone going and hopefully will help continue the activity.

The rules are: Post as much of you can in the forum categories. If there is not a topic there that interests you start a new one. The Admin will only count 1 business post in the totals. They are trying not to have us business ladies go in an take over the site with advertising.

While you are there start a group or join a group. Write a blog, add some pictures, find some new friends. Hope I will talk to you there!!!
Winners will be contacted by me via email for further information from you.

New "Mommy Jewelry" at Anna Bella Jewels

I was at a Vendor Show back in December and the lady next to me was selling these. I was so impressed with the product I decided that I wanted to be involved with it. How great is that wearing an accessory that will not harm your child.

So let me tell you a little about this new product I have decided to sell through Anna Bella Jewels. Teething Bling® was inspired by babies who like to tug on jewelry. Made from the same material as many teething toys, Teething Bling® looks great on Moms, Grandmas, Aunts and Caregivers but is safe for curious babies to handle and chew. Teething Bling® products are 100% lead-free. The highest-quality, phthalate-free, federally approved silicone in our Teething Bling™ line. The material is non-toxic, latex-free, food–safe, even dishwasher-friendly! It is the same silicone used in many other popular teething products and SGS test reports are available upon request. Although we stress that this is adult jewelry not intended for children to wear, all of pendants come with a breakaway clasp as an added safety feature. Occasionally a customer will ask if Teething Bling® is appropriate for a child of a certain age. Products are designed for adults to wear to soothe and entertain babies with emerging teeth. Children with fully developed teeth may be able to bite through Teething Bling®. Therefore, parents need to determine what is best for their own situation and child and as always, We remind everyone that children should never be left unattended with jewelry of any kind.

Check out all the different colors and styles avaiable on my website. And as always if you have any questions please contact me.
